Is that why he's doing it all? Is that why he's staying? Becouse of the book, becouse he doesn´t want to leave without what he came with? (My mom always tells me to do this, I should make her read this book and prove a point in leaving things behind)  Becouse he feels guilty for bringing more misery into  thestory? Yes, that's probably it. Well, a better motive than the one I though it was before.

Well, sheep in a dream, are supposed to be peacefull, calm, relaxed, to lull you to sleep, not ready to stick a knife in someone. So I don't think the soldiers were like sheep in a dream, unless it was dream, where they where psycho killer sheep.
