I think the author believes in fate.Throughout the books, you can spot certain things that lead you to believe this, they might just be mistakes in the tymeline, but I don't think so. Ej: Before laeving into 'the book world', Meggie gives Darius a bookmark she has made, with Bluejay feathers that she had found in Elinor's garden. Also, the first book that Mo reads to Resa, is indeed a book about a bluejay, that if i don't recall incorrectly, was named 'Bluejay'. This happened so very long ago, before even Mortimer knew he had this power, and Fenoglio wasn't there, or even knew Mo and Resa existed, or were going to be relavent in his life. He wasn't part of any of this, so, how come he named the character based on Mo Bluejay. I mean, Blujays aren't common enough, that I know of, for them to be so known before the robber factor was put in. I mean, before these books, I had never even heard of a Bluejay. I had heard of a Mockingjay, and a ... yeah, that's it. And it might just be that i'm birdly challenged, but these birds seem WAY to abundant in this land, unless, the author planned them not to be a coincidence, but fate. Now that I think of it, is a bluejay even a real bird? Ill google it.
Yes, yes it is. It's a pretty bird too.
